JVC GY-HM100 Solid State Camcorder

The new ultra compact handheld GY-HM100 3-CCD camcorder is the smallest professional format JVC camera to not be tape based and records 35mbps HD video and uncompressed audio directly onto SDHC cards. The GYHM100 records in QuickTime format so is ideal for Apple’s Final Cut Pro but is more than adaptable for many other software and editing packages.  With JVC now using solid state recording, the GY-HM100 is more appealing for those who prefer a quick and easier workflow. 

JVC’s codec for the HM100 provides highly efficient compression of up to 30 megabits per second and supports full 1920x1080 encoding in the HQ mode. MPEG2 long GOP encoding is now the most widely implemented broadcast standard and supported by all popular editing systems and broadcast servers.

The GY-HM100 records onto SDHC memory cards that are available with capacities of up to 32gb enabling up to 6 hours of HD recording. (Using the 2 SD slots with 2x 32gb cards)

The HM100 utilises a 10:1 HD lens made by Fujinon, a world leader in high definition lens technology.
