The AG-HVX201AE P2 mini Cam combines a progressive native 16:9 HD 3CCD imaging system with a HD quality Leica Dicomar wide-angle zoom lens in a camera-recorder. This new DVCPRO HD Camera Recorder P2miniCam provides 1080i/720p HD recording with the production-proven image quality of DVCPRO HD compression (video bit rate: 100 Mbps).

The DVCPRO HD codec uses optimal intraframe compression, each frame stands on its own.

Also able to record Standard Definition in the DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV formats, the AG-HVX201AE supports image creation from the entire DVCPRO family of equipment straight into the IT enviroment. The standards for 1080 and 576 signals support 50i and 25p and for the 720 standard P2minicam supports 25 and 50 in progressive mode.

The AG-HVX201AE's variable frame rate function responds to both slow and quick action. Its true 25p/50p progressive video, cine-like gamma curves and cinelike colour matrix capture images and scenes with the same look and feel as footage from a film camera.

The New Leica Dicomar® HD Lens was specifically developed for HD recording. The lens features a large 82mm diameter and low-dispersion glass reduces colour aberration and increases resolution. With a 13x zoom and wide 30mm angle of view (35mm equivalent) the lens covers most shooting situations without requiring a wide-angle conversion lens.

The new 1/3-inch 16:9 progressive CCD on the AG-HVX200A series further raises image quality. It combines a significantly improved S/N ratio and better low light performance than previous models. Backed by a high-performance digital signal processor, the CCD brings higher quality to HD images to meet the demands of broadcasters and high-end video producers.

 

 

 

 

The new version also retains the high end performance and improved workflow that P2 offers. A slim, large-capacity 32GB P2 card (AJ-P2C032RG) can hold 32 minutes of DVCPRO HD codec recording yet weighs only about 45 grams and a 64GB card is on the way!
