BlackMagic Design BMDSMTV4K12G3 SmartView 4K G3
SmartView 4K G3 features built in optical and copper SMPTE‑2110 IP video connections so you can connect directly to IP based broadcast systems. You also get two 12G-SDI inputs for connecting to a wide range of professional video equipment. Plus both the 12G-SDI and 2110 video inputs can output to a 12G-SDI loop output connection. The design still features a lightweight machined aluminum chassis and a full resolution Ultra HD LCD. The on screen overlays include focus peaking, framing guides, safe area and more. You also get built in 3D LUTs for adding creative looks, converting log film gamma or handling custom HDR profiles.

The Perfect Video Monitoring Solution
Broadcast
SmartView 4K is ideal for broadcast as it supports both 12G-SDI and 2110 IP up to 2160p60. Switch between SDI and IP at the push of a button. SmartView 4K follows the video input so will switch between all SD, HD or Ultra HD standards automatically.

Live Production
For live production, it's vital to get a solution with features to accurately monitor cameras. Powerful camera features include focus peaking, zoom, aspect ratio markers and tally. Plus the 4K display lets you see incredibly fine camera image detail.

Fly Away Kits
Fly away kits need to be portable and tough. SmartView 4K is lightweight aluminium so it's light, plus it's only a few inches deep, so allows great rack ventilation via natural convection. Plus it has lots of camera and technical monitoring features.

Anodized Machined Metal Design in Deep Black
SmartView 4K features an incredibly strong machined aluminium metal design with crisp clean lines. The design is anodized in deep black, so it looks fantastic mounted in equipment racks with other Blackmagic Design equipment. Plus SmartView 4K is only a few inches deep. Because monitors are often installed at the top of equipment racks, this thin design allows a large area behind the monitor to better ventilate the whole rack and keep all the equipment cool. Along the bottom of the SmartView 4K is a range of button controls that are tilted slightly so they're easier to press. On the rear of the monitor are all the video connections, plus there's even a VESA mounting point.

Bright High Resolution Display
The LCD used on SmartView 4K features an extremely high resolution so it will display every pixel in an Ultra HD image. That means you get an incredibly clean image with deep colour fidelity. To avoid messy fingerprints on the LCD screen, SmartView 4K has a row of buttons along the bottom of the screen so you can adjust all the monitor controls without touching the screen. SmartView 4K is designed for broadcast so it will instantly lock to a new video source, which is very common when the monitor is connected to a router and the input can change constantly to different timed sources. Unlike TVs, the video is not over scanned so you get all image pixels right to the edge of the LCD.

Front Panel Buttons for Monitor Control
The SmartView 4K front panel includes a wide range of monitoring controls. The input button selects between the two 12G-SDI video inputs and the 2110 IP video input. The display button allows you to adjust display brightness. The H/V display is a traditional broadcast monitor function that lets you look into the image blanking. Blue only is great for checking hue from SD archive content. The zoom button lets you zoom the image in for adjusting camera focus. Peaking highlights sharp image detail and is also perfect for adjusting camera focus. The 3D LUT buttons let you enable and switch between 3D LUTs. The H and V marker buttons let you display and adjust up to 4 on screen markers.

Includes Frame Guides and Focus Peaking
When you're working with cameras, SmartView 4K has everything you need to assist in framing and focus with its on screen graphic overlays. Overlays include safe area and safe title markers. Plus there are 4 separate frame guides, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal, which can be displayed simultaneously and are perfect for social media and feature film framing. The markers are all individually adjustable so you can create any aspect ratio you like. You also get on screen focus peaking, which can be turned on and off with a dedicated front panel button. Focus peaking is perfect when using SmartView 4K for remote camera monitoring, as you can ensure your remote camera has perfect focus at all times.

Get Colour Accurate Monitoring with 3D LUTs
Broadcasters and feature film productions often work with SDI sources that are encoded with log film gamma or an HDR profile. This means the images can look washed out or have incorrect colours. SmartView 4K solves this problem because it includes support for 3D LUTs. This means you can use a 3D LUT to re-map the SDI or 2110 input colourspace to the SmartView 4K screen. Plus you could also use 3D LUTs for exciting creative looks. 3D LUTs are easy to use and are uploaded using the SmartView utility. You can also export DaVinci Resolve colour grades as custom 3D LUTs. Because DaVinci Resolve can be downloaded free, it costs absolutely nothing to start creating a library of exciting 3D LUTs.

Supports SD, HD and 2K DCI Film The high performance 12G-SDI and 10G Ethernet based 2110 IP inputs are multi rate so they support lower resolution SD for archive, plus HD for broadcast and 2K for feature film use. These include 525i59.94 NTSC, 625i50 PAL, 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30, 1080p47.95, 1080p48, 1080p50, 1080p59.94, 1080p60, 1080PsF25, 1080PsF29.97, 1080PsF30, 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60, 2Kp23.98 DCI, 2Kp24 DCI, 2Kp25 DCI, 2Kp29.97 DCI, 2Kp30 DCI, 2Kp47.95 DCI, 2Kp48 DCI, 2Kp50 DCI, 2Kp59.94 DCI and 2Kp60 DCI, 2KPsF25 DCI, 2KPsF29.97 DCI and 2KPsF30 DCI. When connected to 3G-SDI sources, both level A and B video standards are supported.

Supports Ultra HD and 4K DCI Film
SmartView 4K also supports Ultra HD video standards on both its 12G-SDI and the 10G Ethernet based 2110 IP video inputs. Ultra HD video standards include 2160p23.98, 2160p24, 2160p25, 2160p29.97, 2160p30, 2160p47.95, 2160p48, 2160p50, 2160p59.94 and 2160p60. Supported 4K film standards include 4Kp23.98 DCI, 4Kp24 DCI, 4Kp25 DCI, 4Kp29.97 DCI, 4Kp30 DCI, 4Kp47.95 DCI, 4Kp48 DCI, 4Kp50 DCI, 4Kp59.94 DCI and 4Kp60 DCI, 4KPsF25 DCI, 4KPsF29.97 DCI and 4KPsF30 DCI. This means SmartView 4K is the ideal monitor because it allows you to migrate to Ultra HD and 4K work now. Plus SmartView 4K can be software updated, so new television standards can be added when they are invented.

Connect Directly to SMPTE 2110 IP Networks
Now you can build modern IP video systems because SmartView 4K fully conforms to the SMPTE‑2110 standard for IP video with both optical fiber and copper 10G Ethernet connections. SMPTE‑2110 specifies the transport, synchronization and description of video, audio and ancillary data over IP networks for broadcast. This includes support for SMPTE‑2110-20 uncompressed video, the Blackmagic IP codec for high frame rate Ultra HD as well as SMPTE‑2110-21 traffic shaping/timing, SMPTE‑2110-30 audio and SMPTE‑2110-40 support for ancillary data. Plus the selected video input can be sent out via the 10G Ethernet SMPTE‑2110 IP connection with full support for multicast out to multiple destinations.

Includes NMOS Protocol for Virtual Routing
SmartView 4K supports the NMOS interface specifications so all your 2110 IP video devices can operate together as a large virtual router. Plus Videohub Smart Control can route sources to destinations on 2110 IP networks because it can act as an NMOS controller. The NMOS interface specification describes how SMPTE 2110 devices are discovered and controlled on IP networks. SmartView 4K supports IS-04 for discovery and registration of IP video devices and IS-05 for connection management between IP video devices. This means you can make connections between sources and destinations just like a traditional SDI router.

Built-in Tally Border for On Air Status
When you’re working with live production, SmartView 4K supports the Blackmagic SDI Tally Protocol and illuminates a coloured border around the image, in red for on air or green for preview. This SDI tally standard is used on all ATEM live production switchers so you can simply connect the monitor to the switcher SDI outputs to get the image and the tally with a single BNC cable. This means that a director can cut between cameras and the tally information will be sent back to the SmartView 4K via the SDI video feed. This totally eliminates complex cabling and the Blackmagic SDI Tally Protocol helps you set up for jobs much faster.

Remote Control Software for Mac and Windows
When you need to change settings or update the software on your SmartView 4K, then you can simply download and run the SmartView Utility software which is available free of charge on the Blackmagic Design support site. This software is available for both Mac and Windows computers and it connects via the USB connection or Ethernet when you have the SmartView 4K Ethernet connected. You can use the utility to change the monitor custom name for identifying monitors in larger systems. You can also select between 3G-SDI level A and level B formatting. To protect against unauthorized network access, Ethernet is disabled by default, but can be enabled when connecting via USB.

Develop Custom Remote Control Solutions
Videohub includes a powerful remote control protocol so you can create custom remote control solutions for integrating SmartView 4K into your broadcast systems. It's extremely easy to learn because it's a simple text based protocol you can even play with using a Telnet client. This means you can create custom control solutions on all computer platforms and from embedded hardware such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino. You get full control of LCD brightness, contrast, saturation, tally, input selection and you can even activate a 3D LUT. The best way to learn the protocol is to log in using a simple Telnet app and then use the documentation in the SmartView 4K manual to try out each command.

Flexible and Redundant Power

The all in one design of SmartView 4K includes a built in power supply so you don’t have to carry around an external power brick. Simply plug it into any AC mains outlet and start live production. The international power supply automatically works from 100 to 240V AC, so you can use it anywhere in the world. Plus, for safety, SmartView 4K includes both AC and 12V DC power connections. The mini converter style 12V DC power connection is perfect for backup power or for running on batteries. Running on batteries means you can use it in extremely remote locations. Plus, if the internal power supply should ever malfunction, then you can connect a DC power supply to keep running.

The scopes also help you QA masters to ensure compliance with broadcast standards before streaming and broadcast.
CONVERT LEGACY PROGRAMMING FOR STREAMING
As streaming services have become common, preserving cultural diversity through maintaining localized content is increasingly important. The solution is to get each country’s legacy programs onto streaming services at an affordable cost. HyperDeck Extreme Control lets you connect to legacy broadcast decks, set an in and an out point, then edit. Just add HyperDeck Extreme and HyperDeck Extreme Control to each legacy deck to keep them all archiving constantly with just one operator. It’s even possible to edit across formats by using Teranex Express to convert tapes from SD to HD in one step. You can control a wide range of decks, including Digital Betacam, 1 inch C format, and Betacam SP.
BIG BRIGHT SCREEN FOR EASY TOUCH CONTROL
The innovative touch LCD user interface provides incredible control. On screen, there are dedicated buttons for play, stop and record, plus a mini timeline for scrolling through your recordings. You can even image swipe to jog. The LCD includes a heads up display of timecode, video standard, media status as well as audio meters. Then you can always add traditional deck controls with HyperDeck Extreme Control.
TRADITIONAL BROADCAST DECK CONTROLS
HyperDeck Extreme Control extends your HyperDeck Extreme to add traditional broadcast deck controls. It works like a traditional broadcast deck with a familiar layout. You can control up to 8 decks via industry standard RS‑422 control. You can even rack mount to the HyperDeck Extreme to create a single "broadcast deck" unit. Because it uses standard RS‑422, you can control old broadcast decks and perform edits using set in and out points. That's perfect for archiving work. Plus you can even edit between frame rates if standards converting between formats. Even the controls have been developed in-house by Blackmagic Design to ensure a premium feel with traditional styling.
DUAL CFAST MEDIA FOR NON STOP RECORDING
CFast media support allows you to record to commonly available flash memory cards. The H.265 files are small enough to allow long recordings on standard CFast cards. Plus there are 2 CFast card slots so you can swap out any full cards even during recording, allowing infinite length recording. CFast cards are perfect for broadcast because they are small, high speed and affordable. You can even use a Blackmagic MultiDock 10G to add SSD compatibility. With H.265, you can record up to 1,398 minutes at 8Kp60 on a 1 TB card, 3,530 minutes in 2160p60 Ultra HD and 9,446 minutes in 1080p59.94 on a 1 TB card. That’s over 23 hours in 8K and over 6 days in HD.
RECORD DIRECT TO EXTERNAL USB‑C MEDIA DISKS
If recording to other media types is required, then the USB‑C Expansion port lets you plug in an external flash disk for recording. USB‑C flash disks have massive capacity as they don't suffer from any size constraint. Plus, it’s possible to record to the same disk you are using or editing, so you don't need to waste time copying files before starting post production. Flash disks are so fast, they can record high data rate formats that are too big for CFast cards, such as real time ProRes in 4K or 8K. Adding a Blackmagic MultiDock 10G also makes it easy to use SSDs for compatibility with other HyperDeck models. You even get on screen menus for managing external disks using the touch screen.
OPTIONAL MEDIA CACHE ELIMINATES DROPPED FRAMES
Sometimes your media can fill before you change to a blank card, or if the card is too slow, then you can get dropped frames in your recording. To eliminate this problem, you can install a PCIe flash disk into HyperDeck Extreme to use as a record cache. This eliminates problems with CFast media or external disks, as the cache will automatically take over and record any content the media could not capture. Even if a card fills, recording will continue to the cache until it’s swapped. The cache even lets you record formats that are too fast for the media card or external disk. Common PCIe flash disks are used and a thermal pad is included to allow user installation.
SUPPORTS 12G‑SDI, HDMI AND LEGACY ANALOGUE
HyperDeck Extreme features a wide range of video and audio connections such as multi-rate 12G-SDI for SD, HD, Ultra HD and 8K devices. The 12G-SDI outputs support fill and key when playing RGBA 4:4:4:4 files. HDMI is included for consumer televisions and video projectors. For archiving work, HyperDeck also includes both balanced analogue, HiFi audio plus timecode connections. For monitoring there's even a down converted monitor SDI output that includes overlays. The USB‑C connection lets you plug in flash disks or disk arrays for recording. The latest 10G Ethernet is included for high speed upload using FTP protocols. HyperDeck even includes both AC and XLR 12V DC power connections.
ADVANCED HDR SUPPORT AND BRIGHT WIDE GAMUT LCD
You'll be ready for the latest HDR workflows with support for the latest HDR standards and an extremely bright screen with a wide colour gamut. The built in scopes even change to HDR scopes when working in HDR formats. Files are tagged with the correct HDR information then SDI and HDMI inputs will also automatically detect HDR video standards. Static metadata PQ and HLG formats are handled according to the ST2084 standard. The bright LCD has a wider colour gamut so can handle both Rec. 2020 and Rec. 709 colourspaces. The built in HyperDeck Extreme HDR LCD colour gamut can even handle 100% of the DCI‑P3 format.
BUILT IN SCOPES ENSURE COMPLIANCE TO BROADCAST STANDARDS
HyperDeck Extreme features full internal waveform monitoring so you can ensure compliance to broadcast standards when used on high end work. The waveform display provides a traditional luminance (brightness) levels view of your input or playback signal. The vectorscope display allows you to see the intensity of colour at 100% SDI reference levels. You also get RGB and YUV parade displays which are ideal for colour correction and checking for illegal levels. Histogram shows the distribution of white to black detail in your images and highlights or shadows clipping. The built in scopes can be overlaid on live video, or as a small picture in picture view at the top right of the scope.
LATEST MULTIRATE 12G-SDI FOR SD, HD AND ULTRA HD
You get full support for the most popular video standards. The SDI and HDMI connections are multi-rate, so handle SD, HD and Ultra HD. SD formats include NTSC and PAL. 720p HD standards include 720p50 and 59.94p. 1080i HD interlaced formats include 1080i50 and 59.94. 1080p HD formats include 1080p23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60p. You can even do 1080 PsF formats. Ultra HD is supported up to 2160p59.94. 2K and 4K DCI rates are available up to 25p.
STANDARD H.265 AND PRORES FILES FOR WIDE COMPATIBILITY
H.265 files are extremely small and range from 60:1 to 285:1 compression ratios which means much lower file sizes. Plus H.265 is now supported on all major operating systems. HyperDeck Extreme even supports ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT for recording and playback plus ProRes 4444 for playback to fill and key out. This means files will be compatible with software such as DaVinci Resolve, Media Composer, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
PROFESSIONAL MULTI CHANNEL SDI AND ANALOGUE AUDIO
HyperDeck Extreme includes professional audio for modern broadcasters or archiving from older broadcast decks. When working in SDI formats, you can record 2, 4, 8 or 16 channels of audio in real time. For capturing legacy programming there are 4 XLR analogue audio inputs that let you record all 4 channels from Betacam SP decks. You can monitor using 4 on screen audio meters with user selectable VU or PPM ballistics. For consumer devices such as VHS, DVD and set top boxes, there are also direct HiFi audio inputs. HyperDeck Extreme models use the latest broadcast technology, however the analogue connections have also been designed to low noise and low distortion broadcast specifications.
LOCALIZED FOR POPULAR LANGUAGES
Multiple languages are fully supported so you don't need to learn another language to use it. Support is included for English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese and Turkish. At first start, HyperDeck Extreme will display a menu for selecting a language, plus you can still use the menus to change languages any time you need. When a language is selected, the on screen text overlays will change, as well as all menus and the overlays on the SDI monitoring output will also be displayed with the selected language. All this means HyperDeck is perfect for doing international location work with different crews.
THE FASTEST NETWORKING WITH MODERN 10G ETHERNET
With 10G Ethernet, HyperDeck Extreme is perfect for digital signage because remote uploads are extremely fast. What's amazing is the ethernet uploads on HyperDeck Extreme are much faster than CFast card transfer speeds. Both models use an easy text based protocol plus you can use Telnet to test control commands. Simply log into HyperDeck and then type "play" or "record" and it will execute the command. It's that simple. To upload media files remotely, you can use FTP, or even use simple FTP client software. When the ethernet protocol and FTP is used with large USB-C disk arrays, HyperDeck Extreme becomes a great broadcast server for ingest, media management and play out.
TRADITIONAL RS-422 BROADCAST DECK CONTROL
The most popular control connection used on broadcast decks since the early 1980s is the RS‑422 protocol. Originally developed by Sony, RS‑422 is used on almost all broadcast gear. HyperDeck Extreme features wide protocol support so you can connect it direct to broadcast systems. It also supports extra commands for the Advanced Media Protocol for managing disk recorders. When designing RS‑422 control solutions, you'll know you’re connected to a HyperDeck Extreme when you see the ID 0xF0E0 in 30/60p, 0xF1E0 in 25/50p or 0xF2E0 in 24p. The full set of support remote commands are included in the instruction manual and you can download this from the support page of our web site.
COMPATIBLE WITH CONTROLLERS, SWITCHERS, CONVERTERS AND MORE

There's a wide range of Blackmagic Design products you can use with HyperDeck Extreme, including the HyperDeck Extreme Control for adding traditional broadcast deck controls. Plus it uses the industry standard RS‑422 deck control protocol so it works with any broadcast deck. Add the Blackmagic MultiDock 10G to use regular SSDs for compatibility with media from other HyperDeck models. HyperDeck Extreme is also a perfect mastering recorder with the ATEM Constellation 8K, or for clip playback and ISO recording. For monitoring, the Teranex SDI to HDMI 8K allows broadcast monitoring on a television and it also has monitor calibration, 3D LUTs and on screen scopes.

USB‑C flash disks have massive capacity as they don't suffer from any size constraint. Plus, it's possible to record to the same disk you are using or editing, so you don't need to waste time copying files before starting post production. Flash disks are so fast they can record high data rate formats that are too big for some lower cost media cards, such as high frame rate Ultra HD. Imagine adding a Blackmagic MultiDock 10G for easy SSD compatibility with other recorders such as Blackmagic HyperDeck models. You even get on screen menus for managing external disks using the touch screen.
Advanced 12G‑Sdi And Hdmi 2.0 Inputs And Outputs

Histogram shows the distribution of white to black detail in your images and highlights or shadows clipping. The built in scopes can even be overlaid on live video, or as a small picture in picture view at the top right of the scope.
Latest Multi Rate 12G‑SDI For Sd, Hd And Ultra HD
You get full support for the most popular video standards. The SDI and HDMI connections are multi‑rate, so handle SD, HD, and Ultra HD. Load Custom 3D Luts To Recreate Film Looks
Some cameras can output logarithmic colorspace to preserve the dynamic range, which is great for later post production, however when these files are viewed on a monitor they can look flat and washed out. 3D LUTs solve this problem because they allow you to apply a "look" to the monitor so you get an idea of how the finished images will look like when editing. LUTs can be applied temporarily for monitoring only, or they can be burned into files for use in editing when capturing Blackmagic RAW. Video Assist works with industry standard 17 and 33 point 3D LUT files, or you can work with the built in LUTs such as Extended Video, Film to Video, Film to Rec.2020 and more.
Post Production Friendly File Formats
Video Assist records using standard open file formats so you don’t have to waste time transcoding media. Files are compatible with all post production software so you can work with the software of your choice, including DaVinci Resolve Studio. Recording works in industry standard 10‑bit Apple ProRes files in all formats and from all HDMI or SDI camera, or 12‑bit Blackmagic RAW when connected to supported cameras. Blackmagic RAW is the fastest growing RAW format and developers can download and use the free Blackmagic RAW SDK to add support to their applications. Best of all, media files work on all operating systems.
The Quality Of Raw And The Speed Of Video
Blackmagic RAW is a revolutionary new format designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from cameras. Video Assist supports Blackmagic RAW recording from popular cameras such as Panasonic EVA1 and Canon C300 MK II. This eliminates the problems with popular camera formats such as H.264, which are highly compressed resulting in noise and processing artifacts. Blackmagic RAW eliminates this problem and gives you stunning images with incredible detail and color throughout the production pipeline from camera to edit, color and mastering. It also saves camera settings as metadata so you can set ISO, white balance and exposure, then override them later while editing, all without any loss of quality! Only Blackmagic RAW gives you the highest quality, smallest files and fastest performance.
Professional Multi Channel SDI And Analogue Audio
Blackmagic Video Assist 12G includes professional audio for modern cameras or other outboard audio equipment. When working in SDI formats, you can record 2, 4, 8 or 16 channels of audio in real time. For connecting microphones the Video Assist 7" model has two XLR analogue audio inputs with phantom power that support the high definition audio sample rate of 192 kHz at uncompressed 16 and 24 bit per sample. You can monitor using on screen audio meters with user selectable VU or PPM ballistics. Blackmagic Video Assist 12G features the latest in technology, including audio, with the analogue audio connections designed to low noise and low distortion digital cinema and broadcast specifications.
Localized For 11 Popular Languages
Multiple languages are fully supported so you don't need to learn another language to use it! Support is included for English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese and Turkish. At first start, Video Assist will display a menu for selecting a language, plus you can still use the menus to change languages any time you need. When a language is selected, the on screen text overlays will change to the selected language, as well as overlays on the video outputs when enabled. All this means Video Assist is perfect for doing international location work with different crews.
Works With The World'S Most Popular Video Software
The files from Blackmagic Video Assist 12G are common and are compatible with all operating systems or in most video software. Media can be formatted using ExFAT or HFS+ so you can easily access the media on computers and access the files like regular disks. DaVinci Resolve is perfect for use with Video Assist because it features editing, color correction, audio post production and visual effects all in one software application. Plus you can download DaVinci Resolve free of charge for Mac, Windows and Linux! You can also use recorded files in other popular software such as Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X. With Video Assist, your media is common so your files will remain readable in the future.

Affordable SDI Monitoring with the new SmartView Duo
Get the ultimate in low cost SDI monitoring with SmartView Duo. Perfect for post production, broadcast or live events, SmartView Duo features two large 8 inch LCD screens in a compact rack mount design that's less than an inch thick. SmartVideo Duo handles all SD, HD and 3 Gb/s SDI video standards, and all screens can be remotely adjusted via your ethernet network. Use SmartView Duo in racks for local monitoring, for multi monitor video walls in master control rooms or for camera monitoring for production switchers. With SmartView Duo you can afford to put SDI monitoring everywhere you need.
Perfect for Live Production
SmartView Duo is perfectly designed for building a video wall for monitoring all sources into live production switchers, and because it’s so incredibly thin, it’s even perfect for portable setups where you need to save space. Imagine having all your video sources displayed on large 8 inch LCD screens so you can see camera focus and quality. Now you can build full live broadcast presentation monitoring that’s small enough to be fully portable. SmartView Duo is lightweight and thin, so it’s perfect for outside broadcast vans or even installed into portable monitor racks to reduce shipping costs of flyway kits.
Monitor Everywhere
Good quality SDI monitoring is expensive and often makes it hard to put monitoring on all the devices in your racks, or control rooms because costs add up quickly. SmartView Duo eliminates this problem and includes two large beautiful 8 inch displays in a compact 3 rack unit size. You get full loop though SDI connections, and ethernet network connection for setup. SmartView Duo includes easy to use software for Mac and Windows so you can see all the monitors on your network for remote adjustments. That’s perfect when you want to color match all screens in a video wall remotely from your laptop. SmartView Duo even includes tally.
International Power Supply
If you’re traveling all over the world, SmartView Duo is perfect because it includes a standard 12 volt power supply with socket adapters for each country. Ideal for live location use where you don’t have engineering support, a standard 12 volt power socket means you can get spare power supplies from any electrical store.
Smart Ethernet Control
There’s nothing more complicated than trying to match all your monitors by climbing all over your equipment and using little screwdrivers. Simply connect your SmartView Duo to your Ethernet network and use the included Mac and Windows software to adjust all your monitors from one central location.
Greater SDI Compatibility
SmartView Duo is designed to be used for broadcast as well as post production so it includes support for more SDI video standards, including SD, HD and 3 Gb/s SDI formats. SmartView Duo allows firmware updating so it’s easy to upgrade to new SDI video formats when they are invented, and updates are free from the Blackmagic Design web site.
Broadcast and Post Production
In a busy facility you can never have enough monitors, and SmartView Duo is perfect when you need monitoring for all your equipment. Install SmartView Duo into your editing desks so you can keep track of decks and other video sources and create an exciting “mission control” environment which will blow your clients’ minds. SmartView Duo is perfect for in-rack monitoring so you always know what’s going on. Now with SmartView Duo, everyone can have that exciting “broadcast experience” of monitoring wherever it’s needed.
Incredible Design
SmartView Duo features two fully independent 8 inch monitors for incredible monitoring. Each monitor includes loop through SDI video, which instantly switches between any SD, HD and 3 Gb/s SDI source, even 2K video over 3 Gb/s SDI. SmartView Duo includes no mechanical controls so it won’t suffer from damage or settings drift. When matching multiple screens in master control rooms, SmartView Duo includes loop though Ethernet for remote adjustment, even from a laptop computer. If you need to mount SmartView Duo in the extreme top or bottom of an equipment rack, SmartView Duo’s LCDs can be rotated upside down for the optimum viewing angle. SmartView Duo will automatically sense the rotation and flip both onscreen images. SmartView Duo even includes a choice of red, green or blue tally inputs.
Integrated Tally
SmartView Duo includes full tally features so it’s the perfect companion for live broadcasters. Unlike a simple tally light, SmartView Duo includes tally borders that can be independently displayed in red, green or blue. Each screen features an independent tally in the three colors so you can signal to the user more than a simple on air status. Tally is connected via a standard parallel pin connector on the rear of SmartView Duo so you get full compatibility with any switcher or automation system.
