Rycote 033204 18cm Super-Softie (24/25)

033204 18cm Super-Softie (24/25) (super/softie, 2425, 24-25, 24, 25) The Super-Softie® with our material 3D-Tex™ combines superb wind noise reduction with excellent acoustic transparency. Excellent noise reduction and weather durability The Super-Softie® retains the excellent wind noise reduction of a conventional cavity windshield but allies it to a novel aerodynamic shape and surface structure, and to a material - 3D-Tex™ - which combines excellent acoustic transparency with superb attenuation of wind noise. It has no rigid internal structure, so causes virtually no polar pattern distortion and is extremely robust in challenging environments such as news-gathering. If it becomes rain-soaked it can be squeezed out and shaken dry very quickly; if it becomes coated with dust it can be rinsed quickly without affecting its performance. The shape & structure of the Super Softie® allow it to reduce wind noise at extreme LF and infrasonic frequencies - where the greatest wind energy lies - more efficiently than previous designs.

Rycote 010606 Windshield WS 295

010606 Windshield WS 295 (WS295, WS-295, ws295, WS/295, W-S-295) The Modular Windshield is designed to work with the Modular Suspension, and forms an integral part of the Modular Windshield Kit. The Windshield is a lightweight, durable basket made from flexible grey plastic netting with a screening material attached. The windshield slides on to the Modular Suspension surrounding the whole microphone, connector and suspension. This system creates a still volume of air around the microphone, which provides excellent wind-noise reduction of up to 30dB, including minimal High-Frequency loss. A Modular Windshield is comprised of: A Windshield body, two end caps, and in some cases extension pieces. The twist and turn locking end caps provide easy, secure and rattle-free on both ends of the windshield. Both end caps can now be removed, facilitating easier placement of the microphone inside the basket. The modular nature allows the fitting of extension pieces which extends the length of the windshield so that several microphones can be used by one kit. For example, a Windshield 5 is comprised of a Windshield 4 Body, an Extension 1 and two end caps, if necessary it can be used as a Windshield 4, by removing the extension piece. To achieve maximum protection of up to 50dB, a Windjammer (fur cover) can be used over the Windshield. Windshields are available in two types, this page refers to 'Mono' windshields which are designed to hold one microphone, and have a diameter of 100mm. 'Stereo' windshields have a larger diameter of 140mm, which fit stereo suspensions designed to hold two microphones.

The Windjammer first introduced by Rycote is a high quality synthetic fur-cover, which provides the highest possible protection against extreme wind-noise. When using a Windjammer fitted over a Cyclone Windshield up to 60 dB of wind-noise attenuation can be achieved, producing excellent standard audio recordings. The Windjammer is made from materials which are specially designed and manufactured for the purpose, and as a result has virtually no adverse effect on High-Frequency. To be totally effective it is important that the pile of the Windjammer remains in prime condition, so each is supplied with a fold flat hairbrush for ongoing maintenance

Suitable for microphones from 246mm up to 280mm in length such as the Sennheiser MKH 416, MKH 60 and Schoeps CMIT 5U.   Main Benefits: Our lightweight, durable windshield baskets are robust enough to withstand the rigours of Broadcast and ENG whatever the weather Their modular nature means our windshields can fit a variety of length microphones making them very versatile The Windshield is designed to be used with our Modular Suspensions and together provide excellent wind and handling noise reduction The Modular Windshield is designed to work with the Modular Suspension, and forms an integral part of the Modular Windshield Kit. Windshields are available in two types, this page refers to a 'Mono' windshield - designed to enclose one microphone - which has a diameter of 100mm. 'Stereo' windshields have a larger diameter of 140mm, which fit stereo suspensions designed to hold two microphones.

Both the acoustic foam and synthetic fur are made from materials which are specially designed and manufactured for the purpose, and as a result offers very good wind-noise reduction without any adverse effect on High-Frequency. In addition the foam is not susceptible to UV or moisture damage, giving this product great longevity. Advanced materials, adhesives and assembly techniques all combine to make the Softie an extremely tough product that provides excellent wind protection in the harshest of environments. Softie Lyre Mount This universal shock-mount, complete with Pistol-grip, uses the patented Lyre system to provide complete isolation against handling and cable-borne noises. The Softie Lyre Mount has a soft-feel grip moulded into the clip which securely holds the microphone, preventing any slipping or twisting. The Lyres are extremely robust, and virtually unbreakable, as they do not use elastic or rubber components that are prone to wear and tear. The Softie Lyre Mount is supplied with a lightweight Pistol Grip handle. The Pistol Grip has an added element of versatility as they have a 3/8" thread fitting for use with a boom pole. For customers who require an on-camera mount, by either hot shoe or ¼” thread, please see our InVision Video range which uses an identical Lyre mount.   The Softie Kit also comes with a 40cm Softie Cable: 3-pin XLR Gold plated, Mogami, Ultra Soft 5.0 mm cable.

See compatibility tab for full list of mics The Cyclone features a durable, lightweight design, category leading wind and shock isolation performance, with the same overall mass yet lighter in weight than modular windshield designs. Suspension The Cyclone introduces a unique “multi-suspension” design that provides complete isolation against handling noise and cable-borne noises, and windshield basket self-noise. In addition to the outstanding shock protection provided by the patented Rycote Lyre suspension webs, shock performance is further enhanced by the new Rycote Floating-Basket Suspension with Lyre® Technology (patent pending). This basket suspension provides a unique isolation barrier between the windshield basket and suspension that inhibits noise and vibration induced by the windshield itself from being mechanically transmitted to the primary suspension.  Windshield The two-piece Z-Locking design magnetically affixes the basket around the microphone for instant and secure attachment to or detachment from the suspension.  Increased transparency is achieved due to the cone-like shape, which vastly reduces reflective parallel surfaces and “room effect”.  With the same overall mass, the unique, design shifts the overall bulk to the basket front for superior wind-noise reduction exceeding modular-style windshield / windjammer combined performance.  In addition to the shape and structure of the Cyclone, 3D-Tex® covers the windshield exterior. This durable material combines excellent acoustic transparency with superb attenuation of wind noise. Rycote 080212 Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit LEMO

Rycote 080212 Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit (LEMO) Suitable for Schoeps CCM pair (LEMO Connbox) Main Benefits: More robust: elastic bands have been replaced by the virtually unbreakable Lyre suspensions Lighter and easier to set up Better isolation from shocks and vibrations   More versatile: fewer combinations cover a wider range of possible MS configurations ORTF stereo recording was pioneered by the engineers at the French state broadcaster in the 1960s, and is defined as using a stereo pair of microphones with the capsules spaced 17cm apart, and at an angle of 110 degrees to each other. Rycote's new ORTF Windshield kit is designed for matched pairs of Schoeps CCM or Sennheiser MKH 8000 mics, and consists of a Lyre suspension, a cable clamp, and a 145mm Stereo Windshield & Windjammer large enough to comfortably accommodate the microphones. A specially designed Rycote mounting adapter bar keeps the microphones at the correct spacing and angle for ORTF recording, and the Lyre suspension and shared windshield combine to provide a solution that is extremely resistant to wind noise and unwanted vibrations such as cable-borne and handling noise. If required, additional protection against cable-borne noise can be ensured by purchasing variants of the ORTF kit which additionally include a Rycote Connbox. The first includes a Connbox with Lemo connectors for use with Schoeps CCMs, the other with MZL connectors for use with Sennheiser MKH8000 mics. There are three variants of the kit, 2 with Connbox supplied (Lemo for Schoeps CCM or MZL for Sennheiser MKH 8020, 8040 or 8050). The 5-pin XLR output Connbox uses detachable Binder cables, with 130 mm tail - with either MZL or Lemo connectors. Includes: 1 x 040153 Suspension Medium ORTF (LEMO) 1 x 010904 Windshield WS AE 1 x 021901 Windjammer WJ AE 1 x 048493 XLR Holder MK II 1 x 048402 Boom Poles Adaptor 1 x 016927 Connbox CB12 (2 LEMO Detachable) 2x Single Lyre 62 (19/25), 2 x Single Lyre 62(8) + risers Brush Hex head key

Rycote 086038 Modular Windshield WS 9 Kit

Rycote 086038 Modular Windshield WS 9 Kit (086038) Suitable for Sennheiser MKH8020, 8040 and 8050 when used without their MZX XLR module.   Main Benefits: Flexible, complete windshield and suspension package, which provides varying levels of windshielding for numerous microphone configurations The iconic Windshield Kit is the industry standard, and leads the way in windshielding and suspension technology   The Modular Windshield WS 9 Kit offers a unique and highly effective solution for compact condenser microphones requiring wind protection and maximum shock isolation. It completely surrounds the compact microphone, sliding onto the XX-Small Suspension to provide up to 25dB of wind noise attenuation. The wind attenuation performance is equivalent to a Rycote full sized Windshield yet in a much smaller and lighter package – only 170mm x 105mm including end caps.   High quality synthetic fur-cover Windjammer for WS 9 provides the highest possible protection against extreme wind-noise. When using a Windjammer fitted over a Windshield up to 35 dB of windnoise attenuation can be achieved, producing excellent exterior audio recordings. Finding the correct Windshield Kit will depend on the type, length and diameter of the microphone. Because the whole microphone is encased in a windshield basket the total length of the microphone including the XLR cable must be accounted for, this means adding 50mm to the length of the mic.   For a windshield to work effectively the microphone should be mounted centrally within the windshield, therefore the microphone + XLR length should approximately equal the windshield body length. The body length of our windshields is the total length, excluding end caps.
