This goes from locked if you are wanting to do a walk and talk for example to responsive which you may need to keep better general focus. You can also customise the autofocus, tweaking things like the AF transition between slow, for stuff like promo videos where you want slow smooth focus movements to fast which will be great for sports. You can also change the AF subject shift sensitivity which defines how easily the focus is switched to another subject. This goes from locked if you are wanting to do a walk and talk for example to responsive which you may need to keep better general focus. You can record up to four channels of audio with a range of different input options, The FX9 has an internal scratch mic, two XLR’s, you can use a dual channel receiver with the MI shoe on the handle or you can now use the DWX series of drop in receivers and transmitters with the new XDCA -FX9 back module. The FX9 does not feature SLOG2 only SLOG3 with S-Gamut3 & S-Gamut3. Cine, this is because the SLOG2 gamma curve is designed for 8-bit whereas all of the codecs on this camera are 10-bit. Canon 3794C011 (379-4C0-11, 379/4C0/11, 379 4C0 11) EOS C500 Mark II 5.9K Full-Frame Camera Body (EF Mount) The Canon EOS C500 Mark II 5.9K Full-Frame Camera Body is part of the Cinema EOS lineup of cameras, and it features a full-frame CMOS sensor with an effective 18.69MP resolution. This allows it to feature a 5.9K output in full frame, and crop (window) the sensor for Super 35 and Super 16 frame sizes while maintaining a high resolution. The C500 Mark II comes with a Canon EF mount and features an interchangeable lens mount system, allowing you to swap out the mount in the field for an optional Cinema Locking EF or PL mount, thus greatly expanding the amount of glass you can use with the camera. The sensor features over 15 stops of dynamic range and Dual Pixel autofocus support, and the camera uses a DIG!C DV 7 chip for image processing. The camera internally records raw using the Canon Cinema RAW Light codec in 12- or 10-bit, or you can capture using the XF-AVC codec in 10-bit. Internal recording is done to CFexpress cards via two CFexpress card slots. 8-bit proxy recording in the XF-AVC codes, as well as JPEGs, can be captured onto an SD card via the built-in SD card slot. Supporting a variety of gamma settings including Canon Log 2 and Log 3, as well as supporting a variety of color gamuts including Cinema BT.2020, DCI-P3, and legacy BT.709. LUT importing is supported of course. The camera supports four channels of 24-bit, 48 kHz linear PCM audio recording. Sensor The full-frame CMOS sensor captures a clean, low-noise image with over 15 stops of dynamic range, and it has a color gamut that exceeds the BT-2020 specs. The sensor is capable of capturing footage in a variety of aspect formats, including DCI-4K, UHD and Anamorphic Widescreen. DIG!C DV 7 Image Processor The EOS C500 Mark II uses the DiG!C DV 7 image processor that takes the extensive raw information captured from the 5.9K sensor. The DiG!C DV 7 enables high frame rate recording, Dual Pixel Auto Focus, Canon RAW Light Recording, HDR (PQ and HLG) output, electronic image stabilization, proxy recording, and oversampling processing. The high-speed DIG!C DV 7 enables the camera to simultaneously record 2K proxy files as XF-AVC 2K 4:2:0 8-bit to an SD card, while you are recording Cinema RAW Light files (5.9K, 4K Crop, or 2K Crop) to the internal CFexpress cards. Interchangeable Lens Mounts the C500 Mark II comes standard with a Canon EF lens mount that works with and has electronic iris control of a variety of Canon EF, ENG, and Canon Cine-Servo lenses. An optional EF Cine Lock mount also features the Canon EF electronic protocols, and it removes any play when mounting EF lenses to your camera. An industry-standard PL mount is also available, enabling using virtually any PL-mount lens on your C500 Mark II. Dual Pixel CMOS AF with support for Touch AF and Face Detection AF DAF technology utilizes the fact that each pixel in the camera's CMOS sensor is configured with two photodiodes. Two independent image signals can then be detected at each photosite and compared using phase-difference to provide autofocus with compatible lenses. DAF can survey the scene and recognizes not only whether the subject is in focus or not, but in which direction (near or far) and by how much. Enabling auto-focus lenses to react when necessary and not have to "hunt" for focus. DAF technology can also be used to aid in manual focus. Focus information is translated to an on-screen guide that conveys to the operator the subject's current focus and direction to move in order to achieve focus. When sharp focus is achieved, the indicator turns green as a clear indication. You can also use DAF and the camera's touchscreen LCG to simulate a focus pull using preset locations. After setting two separate focus locations on the screen, the camera's set button can be used to alternate between the two focus points. The focus racking effect can be fine-tuned by adjusting AF tracking speed and response. MPEG-2 and AVCHD Recording The GY-HM850 supports both the popular MPEG-2 Long GOP 35/25/19Mbps format, widely used by television broadcasters, and the highly efficient AVCHD format, which provides compatibility with most affordable editing systems. This means that professionals have unprecedented flexibility to meet production standards through a wide range of workflows. With the revolutionary dual codec, the GY-HM850 also supports simultaneous HD/SD or HD/proxy recording. Also supported is the MPEG-4/AVC H.264 1.2 Mbps SD format. Ultra and Extreme High Quality Recording Modes The GY-HM850 is also equipped with the H.264 Extreme High Quality (XHQ) 50Mbps mode for virtually lossless compression, even when recording fast moving objects. MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 offers approximately twice the compression efficiency of MPEG2. Its superior motion prediction ensures a smooth and detailed picture with virtually no block noise in rapid action sequences. The XHQ mode is available when recording 1920 x 1080 at 50p, 50i, 30p and 24p. The GY-HM850 further provides the H.264 Ultra High Quality (UHQ) 35Mbps recording mode, again offering superior image quality but with smaller file sizes. Multiple File Formats for Native Workflows Record HD or SD footage directly in ready-to-edit QuickTime™ MOV files, the native file format of Apple's Final Cut Pro™. Native file recording ensures your footage is ready to edit the moment it's shot, resulting in a more efficient workflow and no loss of image quality. For direct editing in other major NLE systems such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and Grass Valley Edius Pro, it is also possible to record XDCAM EX™ compatible MP4 files for a likewise seamless native workflow. *H.264 SD MOV file can be edited by Grass Valley Edius Pro Support for MXF Files with Rich Metadata A highly efficient file-based workflow is essential to any modern news organization. To ensure file interoperability with the widest range of broadcast production tools, JVC has worked with the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) on its "AS-10: MXF for Production," establishing a common MXF file format for an end-to-end news production workflow. MXF files are embedded with rich descriptive metadata that is added before, during or after shooting. The AS-10 MXF format builds on the SMPTE RDD 9, the MXF interoperability specification of Sony MPEG Long GOP Products (XDCAM HD.) Dual SDHC/SDXC Card Slots for Maximum Versatility Dual SDHC/SDXC card slots make the GY-HM850 a truly versatile camcorder, offering such benefits as simultaneous recording and relay recording with reliable and cost-effective media. In relay recording mode, you can shoot continuously and seamlessly over multiple cards. When one card is full, the camcorder switches seamlessly and automatically to the other card. And because cards are hot swappable, there is in effect no limit to the continuous shooting time in any mode, even with lower capacity cards. It is possible to start editing footage from one card while still shooting to the other. With simultaneous recording, you can easily create backup or duplicate files as you shoot without the need for any external equipment—either for a client copy or simply for peace of mind. Additionally, while the Rec trigger is used to pause and unpause recording on one card, the other card can act as a continuous backup that overrides the pause function. SDHC/SDXC media offers the best combination of price, availability, capacity, reliability and transfer speed. With no moving parts and no pins or other extrusions, SDHC/SDXC cards are both durable and reliable, and compare favorably with tape on a cost-per-minute basis. * During simultaneous backup recording in HD mode, the duplicate file records in the same file format and bit rate as the original.
