High Performance Network Storage with Global Sync
The Blackmagic Cloud Store is a very fast high capacity network disk that's designed to handle large media files used on Hollywood feature films. The design uses advanced flash memory so it easily handles lots of simultaneous users. Plus it's extremely easy to set up. With Dropbox live sync, files can be distributed between multiple units globally for very fast local file access, even on lower cost internet connections. Unlike SAN systems, you don't need IT consultants and there are no subscription fees. There's even an HDMI monitor output with real time storage status. All this means you get much better features than discount storage products sold at office supply stores.
Designed for Film and Television
Blackmagic Cloud Store is the perfect network storage solution for any use. But it's perfect for film and television where large media files need to be shared between multiple users for editing, colour correction, audio post and VFX work. It even handles massive 12K Blackmagic RAW digital cinema files. Each user gets zero latency and they don't need to store files on their local computer. It's the perfect solution for DaVinci Resolve. Dropbox sync allows multiple disks to be synchronized in different locations globally. Then each location gets the fastest editing experience possible. That’s critical for multicam editing where multiple media files are playing simultaneously.
Portable and Quiet Design
Unlike IT industry storage products that are rack mounted and have loud cooling fans, the Blackmagic Cloud Store is an elegant vertical design that's portable. It's also whisper quiet so it can be used on location. Internally it has an array of flash memory cards working in parallel for speed and data protection. There are even 2 redundant power supplies. The four 10G Ethernet ports operate as a switch so you can connect four separate computers, or they work together using "link aggregation" for a massive 40G Ethernet speed. There is also an HDMI monitoring output so you can watch a live graphic view of the storage operating on a TV or monitor. It can even be maintained and repaired.
Connections
USB‑C Ingest
The USB-C ingest port will automatically load from any disk plugged in. It’s fully automatic and you simply plug in a USB media dock or a USB disk. Ethernet over USB is also supported on this port.
USB‑C Backup
This USB-C port will automatically backup cloud store files to any USB disk plugged into the port. It’s a low cost way to protect your critical files. Ethernet over USB is also supported on this port.
HDMI Monitor Output
The HDMI monitor output lets you see the status of your cloud store in real time. Simply plug in a TV or monitor. You can see a storage map, speed graphs, sync, active users and power status.
1G Ethernet
The two 1G Ethernet connections are provided for slower connections such as the internet or slower computers. They are part of the built in Ethernet switch and help keep the faster 10G ports free.
10G Ethernet
The 10G Ethernet ports allow 4 separate computers to be connected. That’s great for mobile use as the 10G Ethernet switch is built in. Plus all 4 connections can work together as a 40G Ethernet link.
AC Power
A standard IEC power socket is for connecting AC power. All international AC voltages are supported so you can use it globally. Plus there are 2 internal power supplies allowing full redundancy.
Flash Memory Allows Multiple Simultaneous Users
The Blackmagic Cloud Store is available in 20 TB, 80 TB and massive 320 TB models, so you have lots of space for all your business files and video media. With video the standard for information delivery in business, that's enough capacity to store all your media in a single location on your network. M.2 flash memory cards are used for extreme reliability, high access speeds and zero seek times. Plus the M.2 cards are arranged in parallel RAID 5 groups so they can operate much faster than a single card. That ensures massive speed combined with fault tolerance. If a faulty M.2 card is detected, the cloud store will automatically enter read only, so you can still access your files.
High Performance for Digital Film Files
With 4 separate very high speed 10G Ethernet connections, Blackmagic Cloud Store is extremely fast. The internal memory core has been designed to saturate all four 10G Ethernet ports to their theoretical maximum speed, all at the same time. It’s so fast, most computers cannot keep up. Plus file access is very low latency, so responsiveness is fast. That’s possible because of the massive parallel processing used by the memory core. At maximum speed, the Blackmagic Cloud Store is extremely quiet with very little cooling fan noise. Even when editing large 12K digital film RAW files. It’s so fast, multicam editing is incredibly smooth, even if it’s used with massive digital film camera files.
Sync to Dropbox
Now you can setup a local cache of your Dropbox files. This makes working much faster because files are instantly available without needing to be loaded from the internet. Blackmagic Cloud Store will constantly work to stay in sync. Plus you can also save space on your computer by moving cached Dropbox files to the Blackmagic Cloud Store so they are accessible to everyone on your local network. You can even sync multiple Blackmagic Cloud Stores via Dropbox so people in different geographic locations can collaborate without latency because everyone has a local copy of the files. Dropbox is also a fantastic backup solution.
Distribute Files Globally
With support for Dropbox sync, you can use multiple Blackmagic Cloud Store units to share files globally. That’s extremely important when working with large datasets or massive digital film and video files. These files need to be constantly accessed dozens of times a second, so most internet connections are too slow to handle it. While the internet has too much latency to access large files remotely, you can use it to sync these files. Syncing the files to local storage totally eliminates delays in accessing them. That's because everyone has a local copy of the files on their network. Blackmagic Cloud Store will constantly sync files, even if your computer is turned off.
Real Time Monitoring
The most exciting feature is the HDMI monitoring output. Simply connect a TV or monitor to see live status of the Blackmagic Cloud Store. The storage map shows a graphic representation of the memory core and where the read and write access is happening for the connected users. It’s quite mesmerizing to watch. There are also four graphs that show you the data transfers on the four main 10G Ethernet connections. The main space indicator shows you the capacity of the memory core and how much is currently used. You can also add a custom name to the store. The status for each Dropbox connection is also shown. It's even possible to see connected users and the power supply status.
Redundant Design for Mission Critical Use
The Blackmagic Cloud Store saves files in a RAID 5 array of M.2 flash memory cards, ensuring protection of your data. Although the flash memory used in Blackmagic Cloud Store is extremely reliable, using RAID 5 adds extra protection. RAID 5 means every 6th M.2 card is used for parity. The parity card holds error correction data that can then be used to rebuild the files after replacing an M.2 card. Plus the Blackmagic Cloud Store memory will automatically wear level, avoiding excessive data writes to the same location. It even has dual power supplies so it will keep operating if a power supply fails. All parts are common, allowing the Blackmagic Cloud Store to be repaired.
High Performance 10G Ethernet Switch
The Blackmagic Cloud Store has four high speed 10G Ethernet ports, which are only found on expensive workstation computers. With 10G Ethernet, you get 10 times the speed of regular Ethernet. Plus most computers can be upgraded to add 10G Ethernet. The Blackmagic Cloud Store is so fast, it will run each 10G Ethernet port to its maximum capacity. Even when running all four 10G Ethernet ports at the same time. With a built in Ethernet switch, each port can be plugged into a separate computer, or they can be used together for 40G Ethernet. The Ethernet also features very low latency for fast access times. Two extra 1G Ethernet ports let you keep the 10G Ethernet ports free for faster computers.
Connect via USB-C for Quick File Access
Modern laptop computers are so thin, they often don't even have an Ethernet connection. That means you need an adapter to connect to an Ethernet network. These adapters are annoying and they make it harder to just plug your computer into the storage to grab a file. Blackmagic Cloud Store has a USB-C to Ethernet adapter built in and you can access it simply by plugging your computer into the USB-C port on the store. Plus USB-C cables are much nicer than stiff Ethernet cables. Once you have connected the Blackmagic Cloud Store USB-C connection to your computer, you have an Ethernet connection to the store. That means you can just plug in to quickly grab files when you need them urgently.
Supports Local Backup and Ingest via USB-C Disks
The two USB-C ports on the Blackmagic Cloud Store can be used for loading and backup of files. If you connect a media card reader or a USB-C disk to the ingest port, then all files on that disk will be loaded into the cloud store. This means you don't need to tie up computers just to load files. Backup is also important and while Dropbox is a good backup solution, by connecting a USB disk to the backup port, you can do local backups without any ongoing costs and with total privacy. It works with a USB-C disk, or even large USB-C disk arrays. The latest files will be loaded first and the Blackmagic Cloud Store will keep backing up for as long as the disk is connected.
Repairable Design for Long Life
Blackmagic Cloud Store is easy to repair by a service engineer, even though it’s not a rack mount design. The design is based on a core chassis that attaches all memory PCBs and power supplies. This means various assemblies can be unbolted from the core chassis and replaced. The memory core is made up of M.2 cards arrayed on interface PCBs, with each M.2 card represented by a fault LED so you can identify and replace a card. Plus Cloud Store runs Blackmagic OS and applies wear leveling, so each M.2 card won't see excessive data writes. You can see any card faults on the utility and the HDMI monitor output. The utility also lets you run a rebuild on the memory core once a card is replaced.
No Subscription Costs
One of the big advantages of Blackmagic Cloud Store is that it’s private storage that you fully control. There are no subscriptions to sign up for. There are no monthly license fees. There is no tracking of your usage or data. You don't even need to log into a web page to maintain the storage settings, because Blackmagic Cloud Store uses a free to download software utility that runs on Mac and Windows. That means you can run a private network, totally disconnected from the internet. This is critical for many security standards where computer networks cannot be connected to the external internet. With Blackmagic Cloud Store, you get enterprise level performance, but with total freedom.
Free Software for Mac and Windows
When you need to change settings, you can use the Blackmagic Cloud Store utility that's available on Mac and Windows. By default, the Blackmagic Cloud Store is set to DHCP, so you can connect it to your network and start transferring files. In many ways, it plugs in just like a regular hard disk. That means it's so easy to setup, you won't need an IT person to get started. However if you want to customize your network, then the utility software lets you change the network settings in the cloud store. The utility also lets you add Dropbox sync folders. If you ever replace M.2 memory cards, then the utility also lets you run a rebuild on the memory core.
Perfect Multi Camera Video Production
Now you can revolutionize multi camera production by recording studio cameras into the cloud store via HyperDeck Extremes. Each HyperDeck Extreme will record each ISO camera direct into the store. That's the perfect DaVinci Resolve multicam editing solution. DaVinci Resolve is a free download so you can add as many users as you need. HyperDeck Extreme can record ProRes, H.265 or DNx video formats into the cloud store using its high speed 10G Ethernet connection. You can even install an M.2 cache into HyperDeck Extreme to handle the network chaos of multiple users simultaneously editing while you record a large number of cameras into the cloud store, all at the same time.

Extremely high performance flash storage, with 24 and 48TB models, 12 card RAID 0 flash memory core, 4 x 10G Ethernet, 100G Ethernet, USB-C and Blackmagic Cloud sync for distributing files globally.
Portable and Quiet Design
Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini and Max models feature a rack mount design that’s very portable and whisper quiet. The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is half rack width, has a single 10G Ethernet connection and features an internal array of 4 flash memory cards working in parallel for higher speed. While the Blackmagic Cloud Store Max model is a full rack width design with 12 flash memory cards, an extremely fast 100G Ethernet connection and 4 x 10G Ethernet connections. If you need to access files quickly, then the USB-C even operates as a network connection, simply by plugging it into your computer. There is also a monitoring video output with a live graphic view of the storage status.
Flash Memory Allows Multiple Simultaneous Users
Blackmagic Cloud Store models feature large parallel flash memory cores with lots of space for your media files. That’s fantastic for film and television production as you get high performance, large capacity, all in a portable design. M.2 flash memory cards are used for extreme reliability, high access speeds and zero seek times. The Mini model has 4 x M.2 cards and the Max model has 12 x M.2 cards arranged in a massive parallel RAID 0 group for extreme performance. That ensures enough speed to keep up with dozens of users. Only this massive parallel memory core has enough speed for large banks of HyperDeck recorders and dozens of editing workstations, all operating at the same time.
High Performance for Digital Film Files
With very high speed 10G and 100G Ethernet connections, Blackmagic Cloud Store is very fast. The internal memory core has been designed to saturate the 10G Ethernet ports to their theoretical maximum speed, even with multiple users connected. It’s so fast, most computers cannot keep up. Plus file access is very low latency, so responsiveness is fast. That’s possible because of the parallel processing used by the memory core. Even at maximum speed, the Blackmagic Cloud Store is extremely quiet with very little cooling fan noise. Even when editing large 12K digital film RAW files. It’s so fast, multicam editing is very smooth, even with dozens of connected editing workstations.
Sync to Blackmagic Cloud for Global Media
Now you can install a local cache of media uploaded to the Blackmagic Cloud website or Dropbox and Google Drive. This makes working faster because files are distributed globally, to as many sites as you need. Blackmagic Cloud Store will constantly work to stay in sync. You also save space on editing workstations because the files are downloaded to the Blackmagic Cloud Store so everyone on your network can access them. If you’re working with remote cameras, such as URSA Broadcast, URSA Cine or the Blackmagic Camera iPhone app, then these files will upload to Blackmagic Cloud and then download to the Blackmagic Cloud Store in seconds. That’s also fantastic for multi site media backup.
Add Cloud Service
Make sure your Blackmagic Cloud Store is connected to the internet. Enter your Blackmagic Cloud ID, Dropbox or Google Drive account details, so the Cloud Store can gain access to allow sync.
Set Sync Folders
Next you need to set the sync folders. That tells the Blackmagic Cloud Store where to sync its files to the remote account. You can also have multiple sync folders.
Set Sync Direction
Now set the sync direction. One direction is good when you have local files you want to share, but not enough room for everyone’s files. Both directions means everyone gets the same set of files.
Distribute Files Globally with Blackmagic Cloud
With support for the Blackmagic Cloud website, Dropbox and Google Drive sync, you can use Blackmagic Cloud Stores to share media files globally. That’s important when working with large datasets or massive digital film and video files. Editing requires access to media dozens of times a second, so internet connections can be too slow to handle it. Plus the internet has too much latency to access large files remotely. However, using the internet to sync media to local storage totally eliminates delays and latency. That’s because everyone has a local copy of the files on their network. With Blackmagic Cloud Store, you get constant media file sync, even if your computer is turned off.
Real Time Storage Video Monitoring
The most exciting feature is the live HDMI monitoring output. The Blackmagic Cloud Store Max also has an SDI monitoring output. Simply connect a TV or monitor to get a live status update of the store. The storage map shows a graphic representation of the memory core in real time with reads and writes shown dynamically. It’s fun to watch. There are also graphs that show data transfers on the Ethernet connections. The main space indicator shows you the capacity of the memory core and the current usage. Plus, you can even add a custom name to the store. The status of the media sync to the Blackmagic Cloud website is also shown. Errors are shown as well, including power supply status.
High Performance 10G Ethernet
The Blackmagic Cloud Stores have very fast 10G Ethernet ports, which are only found on expensive workstation computers. On the Blackmagic Cloud Store Max, you get 4 independent 10G Ethernet ports that can all sustain maximum 10G data speeds even when all 4 ports are connected to separate computers and used at the same time. With 10G Ethernet, you get 10 times the speed of regular Ethernet. Plus most computers can be upgraded to add 10G Ethernet. The internal parallel flash storage and data pipelines are so fast, each 10G Ethernet port will run to its maximum capacity. Even when connected to an Ethernet switch with dozens of users accessing files at the same time.
Even Faster 100G Ethernet
The Blackmagic Cloud Store Max model includes 100G Ethernet for adding more connections. Simply connect a Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P to the 100G Ethernet to get 16 extra 10G Ethernet connections. This means you can add lots of HyperDeck Studio ISO recorders, with each recorder connected to the switch. Each HyperDeck recording is then combined in the switch and sent to the Blackmagic Cloud Store Max via the 100G Ethernet connection. This high speed 100G connection lets you work in professional codecs such as ProRes and DNx. You can also build large creative workgroups with lots of edit workstations. The 100G connection can be used with copper or optical fiber cables.
Connect via USB-C for Quick File Access
Modern laptop computers are so thin, they often don’t even have an Ethernet connection. That means you need an adapter to connect to an Ethernet network. These adapters are annoying and make it harder to just plug your computer into the storage to access a file. Blackmagic Cloud Store models have a USB-C to Ethernet adapter built in and you can access it simply by plugging your computer into the USB-C port on the store. Plus USB-C cables are much nicer than stiff Ethernet cables. Once you have connected the Cloud Store’s USB-C connection to your computer, you have an Ethernet connection direct to the storage. That means you can just plug in to quickly grab files when you need them urgently.
Repairable Design for Long Life
Blackmagic Cloud Store is easy to repair by any qualified maintenance engineer. The design is based on a single PCB that attaches to the M.2 memory cards and power supply. This means the flash memory cards can be easily replaced. Plus Blackmagic Cloud Store runs Blackmagic OS so it applies wear leveling, so each M.2 card won’t see excessive data writes. You can also see any problems in the software utility and HDMI monitor output. Plus in future, as new and larger M.2 flash memory cards are released, the Blackmagic Cloud Store can be upgraded so it has much larger capacity. That’s possible because M.2 flash memory cards are an open standard and available from any computer dealer.
No Subscription or Maintenance Costs
One of the big advantages of the Blackmagic Cloud Store is its private storage that you fully control. There are no subscriptions to sign up for. There are no monthly license fees. There is no tracking of your usage or data. You don’t need to use a paid, cloud based web service to maintain the storage settings because Blackmagic Cloud Store includes a free software utility that runs on Mac and Windows. That means you can run a private network, totally disconnected from the internet. This is critical for many security standards where computer networks cannot be connected to the external internet. With Blackmagic Cloud Store, you get performance, portability, and total freedom.
Free Software for Mac and Windows
When you need to change settings, you can use the Blackmagic Cloud Store utility that’s available on Mac and Windows. By default, the Blackmagic Cloud Store is set to DHCP, so you can connect it to your network and start transferring files. You don’t even need an IT tech to get started. However, the Blackmagic Cloud Store Utility also opens up a whole range of settings you can customize, including the ability to add custom logins and passwords for each user, plus you can enable file download via FTP or web browsers. You can also update network settings and add security certificates. The utility is where you set up sync to the Blackmagic Cloud website as well as Dropbox and Google Drive.
Live Production HyperDeck ISO Recorders
Now it’s easy to get high end multi channel ISO recording by recording from an array of HyperDeck recorders directly into Blackmagic Cloud Store. Plus HyperDeck Studios work in all common codecs including H.264, H.265, DNx and ProRes. HyperDeck Studio recorders now support recording to network storage so you can build an array of HyperDeck Studios that record into the Blackmagic Cloud Stores while multiple DaVinci Resolve systems can edit the same media, all at the same time. DaVinci Resolve is free to download so it’s easy to expand to as many workstations as you need. Even as the files are recording, DaVinci Resolve can still edit the media, so it’s perfect for live action replay.
Add Connections with the Blackmagic Ethernet Switch
The Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P is the first Ethernet switch designed for the film and television industry. It has extremely high performance plus low latency. All the Ethernet connections are on the rear, which means the cables are neater, hidden from users and more secure. You get 16 fast 10G Ethernet ports and 2 high speed 100G Ethernet QSFP sockets for copper cables or optical fiber modules. Plus there’s a router panel built into the front so it can also be used to build small portable 2110 IP systems using a familiar video routing user interface. Users won’t even know they’re routing SMPTE-2110. It’s a simple plug and play solution with everything needed for television work.
Get News Editing and Replay in DaVinci Resolve 19
DaVinci Resolve 19 has exciting new media player, news cutting and replay features. Adding a Blackmagic Cloud Store lets you combine HyperDeck recorders, DaVinci workstations and remote cameras delivering media via the Blackmagic Cloud website. Then the new multi source viewer allows you to browse media visually, as clips with matching timecodes are displayed in a multiview. That’s perfect when shots are arriving in real time from remote cameras. New "on air" controls use a key channel to enable a downstream keyer in a switcher, so a single button can automate the playout to air. You can even add an auto stinger. Only Blackmagic Cloud Store has been designed to support DaVinci Resolve 19.

Perfect for post production, you get the speed to handle massive digital film files and lots of simultaneous users. Plus Blackmagic Cloud sync downloads proxy files in seconds, followed by camera RAW files. Even from remote cameras on set.
Replay
Build a live replay solution using multiple HyperDecks recording over a network to Blackmagic Cloud Store, while DaVinci Resolve powers the playback. DaVinci Resolve 19 has new replay features that can also upload replays as social media posts.
Blackmagic Cloud
Blackmagic Cameras can upload to the Blackmagic Cloud website as they shoot. This means you get clips delivered right into the DaVinci Resolve bin. Blackmagic Cloud Store constantly syncs media so everyone on the network can access the latest shots.
Two Extremely Powerful Models
Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini
High performance rack mount flash storage, features 8 and 16 TB models, 4 card RAID 0 flash memory core, 10G Ethernet, 1G Ethernet, USB-C and Blackmagic Cloud sync for distributing files globally.
Blackmagic Cloud Store Max

Portable 5 inch monitor, professional recorder and scopes for any SDI or HDMI camera in all formats up to 1080p60!
This model supports video formats up to 1080p60 and has
a large 5" LCD with focus peaking, zebra and false colour. Connections include 3G‑SDI and HDMI. This model includes a single SD Card recorder for ProRes recording. Other features include WFM, vector, histogram and RGB parade scopes plus 3D LUTs!
Modern Design with Latest Technology and Amazing Screen!
All Video Assist models are dominated by a large touch screen with all controls for recording, playback of clips, viewing scopes and setting focus assist features. Both 7" models are large enough to include analog inputs for audio and two SD card slots so you get continuous recording, with automatic recording to the second card. Both of the 12G models include 12G-SDI and Ultra HD HDMI connections and USB-C for recording direct to external flash media disks. All models include a rear tally light, a front panel speaker for clip playback and a headphone jack! Video Assist uses Sony L-Series batteries, and with 2 battery slots, you can change batteries without interrupting recording!
Transform Camera Usability with Video Assist!
Traditional cameras are designed for shoulder mounted operation, so are a compromise. Hours spent leaning into a viewfinder for long tripod mounted shoots can be tough! Video Assist will transform your shooting style with an on-board rigged screen. It's much more comfortable using a screen rigged to a position best suited for a shooting setup. Plus you get better situational awareness for the operator, assistant or director. With both 5" and 7" models, you choose the size of a rigged monitor that suits you best. Plus you're also adding fantastic features such as focus zoom, focus peaking, zebras, histogram, false color, scopes, frame markers, frame guides, touch screen and more!

Customise your Touchscreen Tools and Features
With large and bright 5 and 7" touchscreens, Video Assist makes it incredible easy to frame shots and accurately focus. The touchscreen displays critical information while you’re shooting including the timecode, transport control, audio meters and a histogram for exposure. You can also customise the LCD to add or remove overlays such as current filename, focus peaking, zebra, false color, frame guides, 3D LUTs and more. 3D LUTs support allows monitoring shots with the desired color and look, plus you can even "bake in" the LUT if you want to record it into the file. If you're using Blackmagic RAW, the 3D LUT is only added into the metadata so it can be disabled in post production.
Recorders for Uninterrupted Recording
Video Assist uses commonly available SD card media, so you can record to flash memory cards that are easy to obtain. The files are small enough to allow long recordings on standard SD cards or the faster UHS-II cards. The larger Video Assist 12G 7" model even includes 2 SD card slots so you can swap out any full cards even during recording, allowing infinite length recording. Standard SD cards or the faster UHS-II cards are perfect for broadcast because they are small, high speed and affordable.
Upgrade to Better Recording for Digital Cameras
Blackmagic Video Assist is an ideal upgrade for cameras, as its bright display is bigger than the tiny displays found on consumer cameras, plus you're also adding professional focus assist features and better quality file formats. Video Assist is also a great solution for professional cameras because you can use it to upgrade older broadcast cameras to modern file formats used on the latest editing software. You get support for all editing software as you can record in Apple ProRes and Avid DNx. You can even use Blackmagic RAW on supported cameras. With both HDMI and SDI inputs you can connect it to any consumer camera, broadcast camera or even DSLR cameras.
Large HDR Monitor with Easy Touch Controls
The innovative touchscreen LCD user interface provides incredible control. On screen, there are dedicated buttons for play, stop and record, plus a mini timeline for scrolling through your recordings. You can even image swipe to jog! The LCD includes a heads up display of timecode, video standard, media status as well as audio meters. Scopes can be enabled via the touch screen as well as focus and exposure assist. There's also an extensive range of settings all controlled from the large LCD. Plus you can load and save 3D LUTs!
Post Production Friendly File Formats!
Video Assist records using standard open file formats so you don’t have to waste time transcoding media. Files are compatible with all post production software so you can work with the software of your choice, including DaVinci Resolve Studio. Recording works in industry standard 10-bit ProRes or DNx files in all formats and from all HDMI or SDI cameras, as well as 12-bit Blackmagic RAW on the 12G-SDI HDR models when connected to supported cameras. Blackmagic RAW is the fastest growing RAW format and developers can download and use the free Blackmagic RAW SDK to add support to their applications. Best of all media files work on all operating systems!
Built In Scopes Ensure Compliance to Standards
Video Assist features scopes for accurate exposure on cameras and compliance to broadcast standards. That means it’s also a great portable waveform monitoring solution! The waveform display provides a traditional luminance (brightness) level view of the video inputs or the playback signal. The vectorscope allows you to see the intensity of color at 100% SDI reference levels. You also get a RGB parade display which is ideal for color correction. Histogram shows the distribution of white to black detail in your images and highlights or shadows clipping. The built in scopes can even be overlaid on live video, or as a small picture in picture view at the top right of the scope!
Load Custom 3D LUTs to Recreate Film Looks!
Some cameras can output logarithmic colourspace to preserve the dynamic range, which is great for later post production, however when these files are viewed on a monitor they can look flat and washed out. 3D LUTs solve this problem because they allow you to apply a "look" to the monitor so you get an idea of how the finished images will look like when editing. LUTs can be applied temporarily for monitoring only, or they can be burned into files for use in editing when capturing Blackmagic RAW. Video Assist works with industry standard 17 and 33 point 3D LUT files, or you can work with the built in LUTs such as Extended Video, Film to Video and more.
Direct Metadata Entry for Faster Editing
The advanced digital slate and metadata features make it extremely fast to add metadata to any shot! Simply swipe left or right from the edge of the screen to bring up the digital slate. You can even select for take numbers to be automatically incremented when you start and stop recording, so you don’t have to enter them manually for each shot! You can also set reel numbers to increment each time you format a card. All metadata is saved with the files and available in post production with software such as DaVinci Resolve!
Latest Multi Rate 12GSDI for SD, HD and Ultra HD
You get full support for the most popular video standards. The SDI and HDMI connections are multi-rate, so all models handle SD and HD television standards plus the 12G models add extra support for Ultra HD standards. Standard definition formats include NTSC and PAL. 720p HD standards include 720p50 and 59.94p. 1080i HD interlaced formats include 1080i50 and 59.94. 1080p HD formats include 1080p23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60p. Plus you can even work in 1080 PsF formats. On the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G models you also get support for Ultra HD formats up to 2160p59.94. On these 12G models you can even record 2K and 4K DCI rates up to 25p for digital film work!
Professional Multi-Channel SDI and Analog Audio
Blackmagic Video Assist includes a built in professional audio recorder that’s much better quality than the audio found in most cameras, eliminating the need to carry around extra audio equipment. When working in SDI formats, you can record 2, 4, 8 or 16 channels of audio. For connecting microphones the 7" models have 2 XLR analog audio inputs with phantom power and high definition audio sample rates of 192 kHz at 16 and 24 bit per sample. The audio meters can even be changed between VU or PPM ballistics. Blackmagic Video Assist 12G features the latest audio technology to ensure low noise floor and very low distortion so you can use it for digital cinema and broadcast work.
Localised for 11 Popular Languages
Multiple languages are fully supported so you don't need to learn another language to use it! Support is included for English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese and Turkish. At first start, Video Assist will display a menu for selecting a language, plus you can switch languages in the menus. When a language is selected, the on screen text overlays will change to the selected language, as well as overlays on the video outputs when enabled. All this means Video Assist is perfect for doing international location work with different crews because you can just go into the menu and change the language any time you need!
Works with the World's Most Popular Video Software
The files from Blackmagic Video Assist are common and are compatible with all operating systems or in most video software. Media can be formatted using ExFAT or HFS+ so you can easily access the media on computers and access the files like regular disks. DaVinci Resolve is perfect for using with Video Assist as it features editing, color correction, audio post production and visual effects all in one software application. Plus you can download DaVinci Resolve free of charge for Mac, Windows and Linux! You can also use recorded files in other popular software such as Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X. With Video Assist, your media is common so your files will remain readable in the future.

Blackmagic BMD-CINEURSANWFRSTUD ( CINEURSANWFRSTUD, BMDCINEURSANWFRSTUD, BMD/CINEURSANWFRSTUD, BMD CINEURSANWFRSTUD ) Studio Fiber Converter
Connect to remote cameras up to 2 km away with multiple channels of video, talkback, control and power all over a single cable
Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter
The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter is used at the other end of your broadcast camera chain back in the studio or outside broadcast truck. It converts signals from the remote camera back into standard television industry connections that can be used with your live production switchers, audio mixers and talkback interfaces. It features a high capacity power supply to drive the cable so it can provide enough power for your camera and any accessories that you might add. The studio fiber converter includes connections for tally, two dual channel intercoms for industry standard 3rd party talkback systems, and even a backup engineering talkback channel in case the fiber goes down. You get a main Ultra HD camera feed plus 3 independent HD return feeds with full remote camera control, PTZ, tracker talkback and ethernet, all through a single SMPTE fiber cable. Plus, there is a large 5 inch LCD screen right next to the SMPTE fiber connection on the front panel for monitoring signals from the remote camera. This allows for easy patching and verification of the remote camera function.
Blackmagic Fiber Converters
Extend and fully power cameras up to 2 km away using an open standard SMPTE fiber cable
The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter and Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter convert standard television industry connections for video, audio, power, talkback, and tally into a single SMPTE fiber optic cable. This allows cameras to be placed up to 2 km away from a studio or outside broadcast truck using a single convenient and incredibly durable cable. The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter also adds familiar broadcast studio camera controls to the rear of the camera, plus additional connections so you can use it with the talkback systems and switchers you already have. The Blackmagic fiber converters feature 12G-SDI and are designed to work with all HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60. Now you can transform professional cameras such as URSA Broadcast and URSA Mini into a complete professional studio camera with all of the features you need for high end work.
Place Cameras Anywhere
Get cameras much closer to the action
If you’re working in a studio or out at a large sporting venue, you often need to place cameras far apart. While SDI connections are common, the limited range of SDI makes it hard to use it over long distances. Traditionally, you would need to run multiple cables and expensive extenders for power, talkback, tally, video and audio. This makes set up incredibly complex and increases the chances of a technical problem. Now you can solve this problem by converting all essential connections and power into a single convenient SMPTE fiber cable that can run incredibly long distances. That means cameras can be placed anywhere and connected back to broadcast trucks parked outside of a venue or back to a central control room in a studio. Best of all, SMPTE fiber is a global broadcast industry standard so you can use cables and connection points that are commonly available. Blackmagic fiber converters are also affordable, so traditional broadcasters, new web broadcasters, AV producers, houses of worship and educators can all use the same high end broadcast technology.
SMPTE Fiber for Industrial Strength and Safety
Built in multi layer fail safe instantly cuts power to eliminate danger
Blackmagic fiber converters work with standard SMPTE 311M hybrid electrical and fiber optic cables with standard SMPTE 304 connectors on each end. These cables feature a 2 way fiber pair, data pair and power pair, along with a central strength member that gives it the needed durability for continuous use. Once plugged in, the Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter automatically performs safety checks and then powers up, sending an industry standard 200 volts of power over the SMPTE cable for the camera and accessories. This means you can install cameras in remote locations without having to worry about power drops over long distances. Both the studio and camera converters at each end have dedicated micro controllers that continuously monitor power status. The converters communicate with each other to ensure that both a stable optical signal is present and that the power supply is operating within safe parameters. If a damaged cable or a earth leak is detected, the power is instantly shut down to eliminate any danger to personnel.
Add Studio Camera Controls
Transform broadcast cameras into dedicated studio cameras
Studio cameras are typically operated from the rear of the camera, but broadcast cameras usually have controls on the side of the camera. To solve this problem, the Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter adds support for SMPTE fiber to your camera along with a wide range of controls and features to the rear of the camera, transforming it into a professional studio camera. You get 2 separate broadcast standard 5 pin talkback connections, 3 return video feeds, 2 extra audio inputs, connections for PTZ and trackers, plus additional DC and D-tap outputs for powering accessories. With all these extra controls added to the rear of the camera, you can operate the camera in the same way as traditional studio cameras.
10G Ethernet for IP Video
Super fast, low latency ethernet link for video, audio and control
The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter and the Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter use IP video because the SMPTE fiber connection is an open standard 10G Ethernet link. That means all of your video and return feeds are IP video based using high end, lossless broadcast quality 10-bit video encoding and decoding. All other connections such as talkback, tally, camera control and lens control are also converted to low latency IP so you get incredibly reliable performance and high quality. Using IP video means the Blackmagic fiber converters are future proof and ready for customization using high speed Ethernet infrastructure in future.
Dual Channel Talkback
Two dual channel talkback intercoms with backup
The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter and Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter provide 2 dual channel digital talkback connections that are compatible with professional 5 pin XLR talkback headsets. The camera converter even has convenient controls for mixing in program return audio with your talkback headset so you can adjust the volume as needed while talking to the rest of the crew. The talkback intercoms can be used for both production and engineering. In addition, there is a backup channel available for troubleshooting in case the fiber link is down. This backup talkback channel automatically switches over and uses the data pair in the SMPTE cable if the fiber is not working. The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter also includes a standard 10 pin connection for tracker talkback, which is perfect when both headset connections are in use and you need to feed an additional talkback connection through to your crane operator.
Designed for High End Broadcast
Durable metal design, high end components and professional connections
The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter features an extremely durable all metal design that perfectly matches URSA Broadcast, URSA Mini cameras or any camera that supports a standard battery plate. It’s built to withstand the harsh demands of outdoor field production and 24/7 operation. The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter features full size standard television industry connections with dust caps, along with an integrated VLock mount plate on top for adding a studio viewfinder. The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter is designed so that you can fit two of them side by side in a standard equipment rack using the optional rack mount kit. The optical fiber connector on the Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter is conveniently located on the front panel, right next to the built in 5 inch LCD, so you can plug remote cameras in and instantly see the feed.
