This strategic move enables us to overcome availability hurdles, drastically cut down delivery times, and improve the customer experience throughout multiple European regions.

How does the VAT system work:

 

1. Business-to-Business (B2B) Transactions

  • If both the seller and buyer are VAT-registered in the EU:
    • If the seller and buyer are both registered for VAT in their respective EU countries and the buyer provides a valid VAT number, the seller can apply zero-rated VAT (0%) on the sale.
    • The buyer provides their VAT number, and the transaction is reported as an intra-community supply.
    • The buyer accounts for VAT in their own country under the reverse charge mechanism.

Example:
A German company sells to a French company. The French buyer provides a valid VAT number. The German seller charges 0% VAT, and the French buyer self-assesses the VAT in France.

2. Business-to-Consumer (B2C) Transactions

  • For sales to non-business customers (not VAT-registered):
    • The seller charges VAT.
    • This is part of the EU VAT rules for distance selling.

 

Simplified Processes: EU-to-EU shipments do not require customs declarations or import/export duties, reducing costs and administrative burdens.

In short, EU-to-EU shipments benefit from free movement of goods, no import VAT, and potential zero-rated VAT when proper VAT registration details are provided. This makes transactions smoother and more cost-effective for businesses within the EU.
