The Portkeys BM7 II DS is a rugged 7-inch on-camera monitor that builds on the legacy of the popular BM5 III WR, offering an expanded feature set in a larger format. It retains key professional tools like a bright, daylight-viewable touchscreen, four customizable function buttons, wired and wireless camera control, and now adds a larger screen, more I/O options, and advanced monitoring capabilities.

Constructed from durable aluminum and protected with reinforced glass, the BM7 II DS is designed to withstand the rigors of demanding sets. Weighing just 460g (16.2oz), it’s lighter than many 5-inch monitors on the market, while offering a larger viewing area. 1/4″-20 mounting points with ARRI locating holes on the top and bottom ensure flexible rigging options.

With a brightness of 2,200 nits and a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, the BM7 II DS excels in outdoor environments. The 10-bit (8+2 FRC) display delivers rich color reproduction without banding and supports 100% Rec.709 and 85% DCI-P3 color space coverage. Each unit is factory-calibrated for accurate color fidelity.

Despite its size and brightness, the monitor consumes only 15W of power and features a dual NP-F battery plate with hot-swapping support—only one battery is required to run the monitor at full capacity. It also includes two power input options: a 2-pin LEMO and a locking 5.5mm barrel connector (with D-Tap cable included).

Connectivity is comprehensive: two 3G-SDI inputs, one SDI output, and HDMI input/output. HDMI-to-SDI cross-conversion ensures seamless signal routing. Both SDI and HDMI outputs can deliver a clean feed or a video signal with a 3D LUT applied.

The BM7 II DS supports dual-input monitoring with various split-screen modes: horizontal, vertical, and hybrid layouts. You can even view a single source cropped in 16:9 and 9:16 simultaneously—perfect for creating content for both traditional and social platforms.
