The Portkeys HS8 is a robust and feature-rich 8-inch director monitor, built to meet the demanding needs of filmmakers and video professionals. With its rugged all-aluminum housing and removable protective display glass, the HS8 is engineered to endure challenging shooting environments while delivering high-performance monitoring.

Compact and practical, the HS8 measures 208 x 133.7 x 50.5mm and weighs just 675g (1.48 lbs)—perfect for directors, focus pullers, camera crews, or clients to share on set.

Stunning Visual Performance

The monitor boasts a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 10-bit (8+2 FRC) color depth, 1,100 nits brightness, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, making it suitable for both studio and outdoor use. Its color-accurate display ensures rich detail without banding, right out of the box.

Professional Connectivity & I/O

All input/output ports are neatly recessed at the bottom for added protection. Key video ports include:

Both outputs support up to 1080p60 and feature cross-conversion (HDMI to SDI and vice versa), with 3D LUT output through both.

Dual Power Options

At the rear, the HS8 includes a dual Sony NP-F battery plate with hot-swap capability, providing up to five hours of runtime with two NP-F970 batteries. It also supports extended use via external DC power input.

Unique Power Output Feature

A standout feature of the HS8 is its rotatable, removable NP-F dummy battery power output, allowing you to directly power a wireless video receiver (8V/10W passthrough). This patented design lets you rotate the dummy battery 360° tool-free, using a large yellow knob—ideal for keeping your setup clean and integrated.

Mounting Flexibility

Equipped with VESA 100 x 100 mounting holes, the monitor easily mounts to C-stands or light stands using standard monitor arms. Additionally, four 1/4"-20 threaded mounting points with locating pins allow for versatile rigging, tripod mounting, or direct attachment of side handles.
