Full-Frame 8.6K CMOS Sensor

The 8.6K CMOS sensor in the BURANO matches the exceptional quality of the VENICE 8K, with Sony’s renowned autofocus technology. This is particularly helpful for single operators working in fast-paced environments. The sensor supports both full-frame and Super35 modes, providing flexibility with a wide range of lenses for different types of projects.

ARRI PL and Sony E Mounts

The BURANO supports both ARRI PL and Sony E-mount lenses, allowing for a versatile range of lens options. The PL mount is compatible with Super35 and full-frame lenses in spherical and anamorphic formats and supports Cooke/I technology for frame-by-frame metadata, as well as ZEISS eXtended Data. The E-mount supports Sony E-mount lens metadata.

Autofocus and Image Stabilization

The Fast Hybrid AF and Human Eye AF technologies ensure accurate focus for fast-moving subjects, even when operated by a single user. BURANO also features in-camera image stabilization for both E-mount and PL-mount lenses. The built-in, electronically variable ND filter (ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 ND) allows operators to easily adjust exposure in changing lighting conditions, making it easier to shoot solo in dynamic environments.

The BURANO’s sensor delivers 16 stops of dynamic range, ensuring excellent low-noise performance in both low-light and bright conditions. It also supports HDR imaging and features dual-base ISOs of 800 and 3200, offering flexibility in lighting scenarios with a wide exposure latitude (6 stops over, 10 stops under 18% middle gray).

Versatile Frame Rates and 8K Recording

The camera supports multiple resolutions and frame rates, including full-frame 8.6K at 30 fps, cropped 6K at 60 fps, Super35 5.8K, and Super35 4K at 120 fps. Recording formats include XAVC H (H.265), X-OCN LT for RAW images, and XAVC-I/L for 4K UHD and HD. X-OCN supports resolutions up to 8.6K, providing 16-bit precision with manageable file sizes.

Viewfinder and Media Slots

The detachable viewfinder/LCD combo doubles as a touchscreen controller, offering quick access to key camera settings. The BURANO supports dual CFexpress Type B cards for internal recording, with an additional SD card slot for utility functions.
