The Sony Rialto Camera Extension System provides remarkable flexibility by allowing you to detach the sensor block from the VENICE camera body and extend it up to 18 feet without sacrificing image quality. Ideal for mounting on stabilizers, shooting from helicopters, or working in tight spaces, the Rialto enables remote image capture while retaining the VENICE’s acclaimed 6K quality and full functionality.

Full Functionality with Added Features

The Rialto preserves all VENICE camera features and even enhances capabilities with an additional SDI monitor output and 12/24 VDC power output at the sensor end. The 12/24 VDC output can power accessories, and the SDI monitor output allows for an on-camera monitor when hand-holding the sensor block. Additionally, the sensor block case includes mounting holes on all sides—top, bottom, and back—for compatibility with camera supports and handheld rigs.

Requires Firmware Version 3.0

To use the Rialto extension system, the VENICE camera requires Firmware version 3.0, available as a free download from Sony for users with earlier versions.

The Rialto ensures no loss in image quality, even at the maximum 18-foot extension, enabling consistent 6K capture regardless of setup.

Enhanced Mobility for Dynamic Shots

By separating the camera body and sensor block, the Rialto allows for unique mounting options and high mobility for gimbals, handheld shots, helicopter and underwater housings, and custom rigs used in 3D/VR productions. This flexibility is especially useful in confined spaces, like vehicle interiors. The separated sensor block is lightweight, weighing just 4 lb with the PL mount and 3 lb with the E-mount.

Advanced Features Retained

The Rialto (CBK-3610XS) maintains all of the VENICE camera’s advanced features, including its 8-step built-in ND filter system and Dual Base ISO, so users can fully leverage the VENICE’s capabilities even in extended setups.

Flexible Power Options

The Rialto adds an HD-SDI output and 12 or 24 VDC accessory power to the camera head, making it easy to power lens servo motors, monitors, and other accessories. The VENICE body plate has a 24 VDC Fischer 3-pin connector, enabling 24 VDC output at the camera head via a Fischer 3-pin cable. For 12 VDC output, the Hirose 4-pin connector on the VENICE can be connected with a Hirose 4-pin to Fischer 3-pin cable.

Mounting Compatibility

The Rialto system features multiple 1/4"-20 mounting points on all components, while the sensor block case includes additional 3/8"-16 mounting points, offering versatile setup options for various rigs and configurations.
