SxS Memory Cards: Both SxS PRO™ and SxS-1™ memory cards provide high transfer speeds (800 Mbps) and reliability, with resistance to shock and vibration. The unique Salvage function restores content damaged by power loss or disconnection during recording. HD Recording with MPEG HD 422 Codec: The PMW-500 records in 1920x1080 and 1280x720 resolutions up to 50 Mbps using MPEG-2 4:2:2P HL compression. 24-bit Four-channel Audio Recording: The camcorder supports uncompressed 24-bit, four-channel audio recording in MPEG HD 422 or MPEG IMX mode, with independent level controls for each channel. Selectable Recording Modes and Video Formats: In addition to MPEG HD 422 50-Mbps mode, the PMW-500 supports various bit rates and formats, including both MXF and MP4 file wrappers. Extended Recording Time: Using a large-capacity SxS memory card, the PMW-500 can record HD 422 50-Mbps footage for up to 110 minutes on a single 64-GB card, with the ability to hot-swap cards without interrupting recording. Compact, Well-balanced Design: The PMW-500 inherits the ergonomically balanced design of Sony's PMW-350/320 XDCAM EX™ camcorders, offering superior mobility and comfort. The main body weighs just 3.4 kg. Low Power Consumption: The PMW-500 consumes only 29W of power, making it energy-efficient. Additional Features: Digital Extender: Optional CBK-HD02 boards enable a digital zoom that doubles the image size.
