The Samyang 50mm F1.4 AS UMC is a fast manual-focus prime lens designed for Canon EF-mount cameras. Its bright F1.4 maximum aperture makes it particularly suitable for low-light shooting and provides excellent control over depth of field for portrait, video and creative photography.

The optical construction comprises 9 elements in 6 groups, including one glass aspherical element (ASP) and one hybrid aspherical element (H-ASP). This design helps minimise optical and colour aberrations while maintaining high resolution, contrast and image quality across the frame.

Samyang's Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) is applied to optimise light transmission while helping to reduce flare and ghosting.

With a minimum focusing distance of 0.45m, the lens allows photographers and filmmakers to work relatively close to their subject while retaining the natural perspective of a 50mm focal length.

The lens features an 8-blade aperture diaphragm, designed to produce an almost circular aperture when stopped down. Its robust body incorporates a high-strength aluminium alloy, providing a solid yet compact construction suitable for regular professional use.
