BIONZ XR image processing

The BIONZ XR image processor, integrated within the sensor, ensures faster autofocus, higher frame rates, improved Auto Tracing White Balance (ATW), and superior noise reduction. The 5K oversampling with full-pixel readout transforms ample image data into stunning 4K (3840 x 2160) 60p video.

Advanced AI Processing Unit for next-generation autofocus

The PXW-Z200’s AI Processing Unit, combined with BIONZ XR, uses deep learning based on human form and posture data to deliver precise human subject recognition. The Fast Hybrid AF system offers 81% coverage, supporting Subject Recognition AF and Real-time Tracking, ensuring focus on subjects across the frame.

4K 120fps for stunning slow-motion footage

The Exmor RS sensor enables high frame rate (HFR) recording, capturing 4K footage at up to 120fps and FHD at 240fps. This allows for 4x slow-motion in 4K at 30p or 5x slow-motion at 24p, with fast autofocus maintaining sharp focus throughout.

20x optical zoom

The 20x power zoom G Lens™ covers a versatile range, from wide-angle interviews to telephoto close-ups. Clear Image Zoom technology boosts the zoom to 30x in 4K or 40x in FHD, while offering smooth, silent operation with maximum apertures of F2.8 (wide) to F4.5 (telephoto).

Built-in Electronic Variable ND Filter

Effortlessly adjust the built-in Electronic Variable ND Filter from 1/4 to 1/128 ND or use the Auto ND function for automatic exposure adjustments—ideal for dynamic shooting conditions.

Flexible camera control

Two independent control rings for focus/zoom and two dials for IRIS/ND Variable provide easy control over exposure, focus, and zoom. The camera also features 12 user-assignable buttons for personalized settings and fast operation.

The PXW-Z200 supports a range of recording formats, including XAVC (MXF), XAVC S-I for high-quality 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, XAVC HS-L (H.265), XAVC S-L (H.264), and proxy recording. These options provide flexibility for post-production and efficient file management.

Dependable battery power

The PXW-Z200 is compatible with Sony BP-U35, BP-U70, or BP-U100 lithium-ion batteries, delivering up to 90 minutes of continuous operation with a BP-U35. The batteries are also interchangeable with other Sony cameras like the PXW-Z280 and FX9.

Wireless monitoring and remote control

Built-in Wi-Fi supports wireless monitoring and remote control via the Monitor & Control app, enabling touch focus, iris adjustment, and more.
