Type EZ lenses are crafted for full manual operation, offering generous rotation angles for precise and creative control over focus, zoom, and iris adjustments. Built with high-quality, lightweight metal, these lenses ensure durability and precision, with temperature compensation to minimize the need for recalibration.

Type EZ Zooms feature fast T-stops and large-format sensor coverage. Equipped with industry-standard 0.8 gear teeth on all three control rings, they integrate seamlessly with lens motors and follow focus units for professional cine-style shooting. The 114mm front diameter is compatible with standard matte boxes, and a dedicated Type EZ Hood is available.

For ENG shooting, the MSU broadcast servo unit is designed specifically for Type EZ Zooms, offering compatibility with a wide range of hand controllers for remote lens operation.

Fast Aperture and Full-Frame Compatibility

Type EZ lenses are available in S35 or as an S35 & FF/VV package, offering some of the industry’s fastest apertures at f/1.9-T2.0 for S35 cameras. These lenses cover an image circle up to 30mm in diagonal, suitable for HDTV/UDTV modes and APS-C format DSLRs. With the large-format option, the aperture shifts to f/2.8-T3.0, expanding the coverage to a 46mm diagonal image circle.

This makes Type EZ lenses an ideal match for full-frame sensors in cameras from RED, ARRI, Sony, and others. For S35 cameras, the large-format rear group also acts as a 1.5x extender, converting the 30-90mm T2.0 lens into a 45-135mm T3.0 lens.

No Crop Factors

For large-format cameras, the 22mm/T3.0 wide-angle end becomes a 15mm/T2.0 equivalent on S35 cameras, maintaining a similar field of view while gaining extra light with a faster T-stop.

One Lens for All

The Angénieux Type EZ series is designed to be versatile and future-proof, compatible with multiple camera formats through dedicated rear groups for both S35 and full-frame sensors, leveraging the innovative IRO Technology™ (Interchangeable Rear Optics). The lens mounts are fully interchangeable, available in PL, Canon EF, and Sony E options.
