The Sony ECM-680S is a professional MS (Mid-Side) stereo shotgun electret condenser microphone designed for broadcast, ENG/EFP, location recording and professional video production.

Offering both stereo and monaural operation, the ECM-680S provides flexibility for a wide range of production environments. In stereo mode, it captures natural ambience and spatial sound, making it ideal for location and environmental recording. When switched to monaural mode, its highly directional super-cardioid pickup pattern is well suited to dialogue, interviews and focused sound capture.

Sony's MS microphone technology combines excellent localisation with low inherent noise and a wide frequency response. Its compact and lightweight design also makes the ECM-680S suitable for both camera-mounted and boom-pole applications.
